Salvia fruticosa

Salvia fruticosa
Σπατζιά, Φασκομηλιά
Indigenous in Cyprus but not endemic. It firstly appeared in the eastern Mediterranean and now it exists all over our island. Traditionally its leaves were used as tea. The name comes from latin “salvo”, which means “to heal/save”. “Fruticosa” is the female for “bushy”, also in latin.
