Umbilicus rupestris
Ομφαλός ο πετρόβιος
“Umbilicus” in Latin means”belly button” and “rupestris” means”that lives on cliffs or rocks”. Indeed it loves living on walls! There are two Umbilicus species in Cyprus. This one is encountered all around the island except for the Nicosia and Morphou regions, at an altitude of up to 1700 metres.
